David Fray entered the classical music world upon receiving the 2nd Grand Prize at the Montreal International Music Competition in 2004. Thanks to his antics at the piano, his relatively young age, and his recent focus on Bach, Fray has been compared to pianist Glenn Gould. Among his awards is the 2008 ‘Young Soloist of the Year’ award from the French Language Public Radio Coalition. Fray was the main focus in 2008’s ‘Swing, Sing and Think,’ a documentary about the musician which was featured on ARTE.
