Philippe Jaroussky is a French sopranist countertenor, pianist and violinist. He is noted for his coloratura technique and his lively interpretations of baroque cantatas and operas. He is often cited as one of the key players in the revival of early music today. Since 1996, Jaroussky has sung alongside Nicole Fallien, founded his own ensemble called ‘Artaserse,’ and often performs with the Ensemble Matheus and L’Arpeggiata ensemble.
