Early
A Roman native, Rinaldo Alessandrini is a virtuoso of Baroque keyboards, including the harpsichord, fortepiano and organ. Considered a foremost interpreter of early Italian opera, he is the founder and conductor of the Italian early music ensemble, ‘Concerto Italiano,’ which is known for performing the works of Monteverdi, Bach, Vivaldi, and others. Surprisingly, Alessandrini did not start playing the piano until age 14, nor the harpsichord until age 18. His 2007 record, ‘Gloria Magnificat,’ is a tribute to the works of Vivaldi.
