Mokobe is a French Malian rapper, member of famous hip-hop group 113. Born from a Malian-Maritanian mother and a Senegalo-Malian father, the young man grew up in Vitry-sur-Seine (Paris suburbs) and along with his friends Rim K and AP they became one of the leaders of French rap movement. After many successful albums with 113 (more than 3 millions records sold) and with his crew Mafia K1FRY, Mokobe released his first solo album in 2007. 'Mon Afrique' sold more than 60 000 copies in France and the song "C’est Dans La Joie" became a summer hit with more than 100,000 singles sold. In 2011, Mokobe released his second solo album, 'Forever Africa'. Here again the concept was to mix Mokobe’s music to African tunes carrying a strong universal and cultural message.
