Contemporary
Richard Dubugnon is a franco-swiss composer. He studied double bass and composition at the Paris conservatory where he obtained first prizes in double bass and in counterpoint, and second prize in fugue. In 1997 he moved to London to continue his studies as a post-graduate in composition at the Royal Academy of Music, before teaching composition himself for seven years. He has received numerous awards, among them the Pierre Cardin Prize from the Academy of Beaux-Arts, and an award from the Natexis Groupe Populaire Foundation. Most recently he has received commissions from Radio France, Musique Nouvelle en Liberté, and the Long-Thibaud Competition.
