Formed in 1969 at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, the Tokyo String Quartet is currently comprised of Americans Martin Beaver (violin) and Clive Greensmith (cello) and Japanese natives Kikuei Ikeda (violin) and Kazuhide Isomura (alto). The members of the quartet have served on the faculty of the Yale School of Music since 1976. They have had several appearances on American television, including a national broadcast from the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
